Please note before you plan a visit: Da Nang Downtown, formerly known as Asia Park, bid farewell to the Han River city in September 2025 and has ceased operations to transform and embrace an entirely new appearance — so the Sun Wheel is not currently open to visitors. Its story, however, is part of Da Nang’s skyline, and guests staying at Sea Garden Hotel & Apartment in Son Tra can still enjoy the Han River city it helped define.

- The Eye of Da Nang – The Sun Wheel, ranked among the world’s top 10, was affectionately called the “Eye of Da Nang” by locals, and from an airplane window it was the first and last image travellers saw of the Han River city.
- Eleven years on the river – Inaugurated in 2014, the complex spent 11 years contributing to Da Nang’s appearance, with thrilling outdoor games and a city gate designed by architect Bill Bensley.
- A new chapter – On August 19, Sun Group with the People’s Committee of Da Nang City held the groundbreaking for the Cultural Park of Entertainment, Commercial, and Premium Services Complex (Da Nang Downtown), for the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2; the design perspective includes a 69-story tower centrepiece and positions Da Nang Downtown as the entertainment hub of Central Vietnam.
Good to know: Until the new complex opens, the Han River waterfront itself remains well worth an evening stroll from Sea Garden, and the hotel’s 4th-floor pool is the place to unwind after a day in the city.
